The Cadillac Ciel Concept – Now that’s a Cadillac!
I have to say that I haven’t been much of a fan of Cadillac for awhile. It seemed to me that the division was trying too hard to chase the likes of BMW, Mercedes and Lexus and the cars just didn’t seem like true Cadillacs anymore. But Cadillac just unveiled their latest concept vehicle, the Ciel. Now this is what a Cadillac is supposed to be! Big, bold and beautiful. Complete with convertible top and suicide doors, the Ciel runs on a twin-turbocharged version of the 3.6-liter Direct Injection V-6, coupled with a lithium ion battery hybrid system. Pushing 425 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque and sporting 22 x 9 inch wheels, this Cadillac has got star power. Will GM really allow Cadillac to step up its game to this level? It would be great to see this car make it to production with little or no changes, except maybe dropping the flowery name in favor of, say, “Eldorado”?
