Abarth 695 Maserati Edition

The very limited edition Abarth 695 Maserati Edition will debut among the priceless classics at the thirtieth Mille Miglia.  Limited to a production of 499 units, the exclusive convertible edition of the iconic Fiat 500 is built with performance and handling enhancements, as well as interior appointments, that Abarth has applied to the Maserati name.  The distinct Maserati Pontevecchio Bordeaux paint and 17×7 inch wheels set the car off as something special right away.  But it’s the extra punch under the hood that sets the 695 apart.  The Turbo T-Jet 16 valve engine rated at 180 peak horsepower zips the 695 from 0-100 km/h (that’s 62mph on this side of the Atlantic) in under 7 seconds and a top speed of over 225 km/h (139mph).  Brembo 305mm disc brakes with four-piston calipers up front and Koni shocks help keep the 695 under control.  A 5-speed manual gearbox with paddle shifters and a a 400-watt stereo round out the short-list of additional amenities the Abarth 695 Maserati Edition has to offer.  Quite a bit of punch for a little box, indeed.

I'm one of those guys that "talks about cars too much", the history, design and engineering, I can go on forever. I finally decided blogging might be a better outlet for my obsession than dinner dates. I enjoy learning, sharing and, of course, driving!
